Starlink for Kiambu and Machakos Businesses: First-Week Acceptance Tests

A Starlink business installation should be judged against the work your team needs to do. A speed-test screenshot alone cannot show whether a front desk, upstairs office and store room can all use their everyday applications. For businesses in Kiambu and Machakos, a simple first-week acceptance record makes the handover more useful.

This checklist suits a small office in Ruiru or Thika, a shop in Kiambu town, a branch in Juja, or a workplace in Athi River, Syokimau, Mlolongo or Machakos town. These are planning examples, not claims that every site has the same conditions. Write your own opening hours, room layout and critical tasks into the record.

Define success before installation day

Choose three to five activities that matter to the business: a video meeting, a cloud-system login, uploading a normal work file or accessing a supplier portal. Agree which work areas and devices need to complete them. Avoid making a test transaction that could charge a customer; use an approved demonstration or ordinary non-payment task.

Record the service plan and equipment separately from the installer’s work. Satellite service, local Wi-Fi, power and a third-party application can fail independently. This distinction helps you send a fault to the right support contact instead of treating every problem as an installation defect.

Day one: establish a useful baseline

With the installer present, test the agreed applications near the main router and then at the actual desks or counters. Use the same device where practical. Note the time, location, task, result and any error message. If a task works beside the router but fails at the rear office, record that difference; it is evidence for further diagnosis, not a final diagnosis by itself.

Ask the installer to identify the installed equipment, explain the Wi-Fi arrangement and show which parts of the job are included in support. Keep photographs of accessible equipment and a simple network sketch. Do not put account passwords into a shared handover sheet.

Days two and three: observe normal work

Repeat the same short tests during your own busiest period. A shop’s busy period and an office’s meeting schedule may be very different. Record how many devices were in use approximately and whether large downloads were running. Change one thing at a time when investigating a problem so the result remains meaningful.

For a Kiambu premises with several rooms or separate buildings, list each required work area. For a Machakos warehouse or yard, identify the specific desk or covered workspace that needs access rather than assuming the whole property is covered. Outdoor or inter-building networking requires a separate assessment.

The example entries describe the information to collect; they are not measurements or a service guarantee. Set any formal acceptance criteria with your supplier before the job begins.

Days four and five: resolve gaps and retest

Send a compact issue list to the appropriate support contact. Include the affected location, times and task results. Redact customer information from screenshots. Avoid sending a general “internet is slow” message when the record can show exactly what failed.

After a configuration or Wi-Fi change, repeat the original test at the original location. Record the outcome alongside the earlier result. If work remains unresolved, agree who owns the next step and whether it falls within the installation scope, additional networking work or the service provider’s support process.

Keep backup arrangements explicit

If the business needs continuity during an outage, discuss it before relying on the connection for essential work. A second connection or backup power arrangement is a separate design decision. Do not assume automatic failover or a particular runtime is included. Ask what is being supplied, what it supports and how it will be demonstrated without disrupting live operations.

Send SpaceKits the town, property type, floor plan or room list, expected users and the applications you want demonstrated. For local planning, see Starlink installation in Kiambu and our Kenya installation services. Confirm travel arrangements and scheduling for your exact Machakos or Kiambu location.

Review available Starlink package information and confirm current plan terms before ordering. The purpose of this checklist is a documented, usable handover—not a promise of fixed speeds or uninterrupted service.
